Manage your Authorizations

What is an authorization?


An authorization is when we securely store a card or payment method (like PayPal) to enable future charges without the customer needing to re-enter their details.


Only confirmed authorizations appear in this tab. If an authorization has not yet been confirmed, it will be in the Confirmations tab.


How to find an authorization


  • Go to Activity ▶︎ Authorizations.
  • Use the filters:
  • Date chip (always visible).
  • All statuses: Active or Deleted.
  • Filters button for additional chips.
  • Search bar by ID.
  • Click on an authorization to expand it.


What information is available?


Before expanding:


  1. Date and time it was made.
  2. Payment method used.
  3. External ID.
  4. Status: Active or Deleted.


When expanded:


  • Information: authorization ID (copiable UUID).
  • Details: masked card number and customer IP.
  • Actions:
  • Charge: make a payment against the authorized card or payment method.
  • Cancel: permanently cancel the authorization. Once cancelled it appears as "Deleted" and cannot be reactivated.
  • Logs: History and Notifications.


How to charge an authorization?


  • Go to Activity ▶︎ Authorizations.
  • Locate and expand the authorization.
  • Click Charge, enter the amount, and confirm.


🧐 If the charge is successful it will appear in the Payments tab. If not, check the authorization History for the error code.


How to cancel an authorization?


  • Expand the authorization and click Cancel.


⚠️ Cancelling an authorization is permanent. It will appear as "Deleted" and cannot be reactivated.


How to refund an authorization charge?


Refunds for charges made on an authorization are managed from the Payments tab.
